Online Building Permission System [OBPS] is a mission mode project, initiated by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, as part of the Ease Of Doing Business (EODB) initiative of the Government of India.
OBPS is implemented by the Meghalaya Urban Development Authority (MUDA), Meghalaya, Shillong.
OBPS aims at proving an end to end solution to citizens of the country; from online scrutiny of Building Plans, Submission of applications for Building Permit, to online delivery of the Building Permission Certificate.
Citizens can now verify if their Building Plan drawings are prepared as per the notified Meghalaya Building Bye-Laws 2021 from the comfort of their homes and the process can be completed in a matter of seconds. Corrections, if any, which may be required in the Building Plan and are mentioned in the Scrutiny Report, which is generated after the citizen uploads the Plan Drawing.
Once the building plan drawing has been cleared, they can apply for Building Permit online. The portal will also calculate the fees required to be paid by the applicant, and he/she may pay the same online and then download the Building Permit.
Once submitted, citizens can track the status of the application through the portal. SMS notifications will be sent to the applicant regarding the status of their application.
